The City Harmonic's hit radio single "Manifesto", from the band's critically acclaimed Introducing The City Harmonic EP, continues to win fans at radio, retail and video outlets as the band powerfully delivers the hit single on main stages across North America. Inspiring and unifying thousands of festival attendees to loudly respond to the pulse and message of the music, The City Harmonic is the only new artist featured in the top 10 (at no. 9) of Billboard's Top Current Digital Singles Chart for Christian music.
Having served as the theme music for a National Day of Prayer promotional campaign, been heard at Major League Baseball stadiums, and spending months on the Billboard National Audience chart while breaking into the Top 20 as all the major Christian networks (K-Love, Air1, HIS Radio, etc.) and many top stations across the country continue to play the single, "Manifesto" has become a breakout hit for The City Harmonic. Over 60,000 digital copies of the song have been sold so far, and more than 686,000 people have viewed the "Manifesto" video at YouTube (view the video here). An additional 70 video outlets have added "Manifesto," with more outlets joining the crowd every week.
"The City Harmonic is the only new artist to break this year into the top of the charts, which has the industry buzzing that they should be considered 2011's 'New Artist of the Year'," says Steve Nicolle, Kingsway Music VP North America.
Having already been enthusiastically received at Ichthus Festival, Big Ticket Festival and Alive Festival, the band's upcoming events include Sonshine Music Festival (July 14th-16th), Creation Northwest (July 23rd), Ignite Festival (July 29th), Kingdom Bound (August 1st), Soulfest (August 3th-6th) and others (see full itinerary below). Music fans around the world can also check out the band playing "Manifesto" and other songs from Introducing The City Harmonic tonight via Livestream from Cincinnati's The Underground beginning at 7:00 p.m. EDT / 6:00 p.m. CDT. The concert will be streamed live at www.livestream.com/theug (see embed code for your website below).
As "Manifesto" continues to gather momentum, it is the sentiment of unity and the heart of the gospel that The City Harmonic intended to capture with the song. "We went into the studio with copies of several ancient Christian creeds printed off. Before long we had them spread all over the control room and were frantically writing things down and massaging the words, trying to find a way to capture the heart and the ideas in just a few words," says The City Harmonic front-man Elias Dummer. "We really wanted to keep it simple and universal."
The most recent stations to become "believers" in the song, adding it to rotation, include WBFJ-FM (Winston-Salem), KGBI FM (Omaha, NE) and WCVK FM (Bowling Green, KY). With the song continuing its ascent, RELEVANT, CCM, Music Remedy, Worship Leader, Colossal Pop, Examiner.com, NewReleaseTuesday.com, Hollywood Jesus, Amazon.com, IndieVisionMusic.com and many more have weighed in and found The City Harmonic EP compelling on multiple levels, with many giving the band five star rankings and naming them "Ones To Watch" in 2011.
The City Harmonic is about "getting people in on the act - hearts pounding and feet moving." The band, consisting of front man Elias Dummer, bassist Eric Fusilier, guitarist Aaron Powell and drummer Josh Vanderlaan, isn't as interested in finding fans as they are looking for participants in the journey.
With the band's name partly derived from the sense that in communal worship we catch a fleeting glimpse of the world that we pine for, Introducing The City Harmonic is just a taste of what's to come from this creative Canadian foursome. The release of a full-length album will be announced soon, and it will continue the journey - songs and stories that tell of hope, unity and seeking a greater kingdom.
