TobyMac Tops Overall iTunes® Album Chart in First Hours of Eye On It's Release

Five-time Grammy® Award winner and Multi-Platinum™ selling artist TobyMac released his highly anticipated album, Eye On It, yesterday, August 28th to an overwhelming response, with the album topping the Overall iTunes® Chart just hours after its release. EYE ON IT continues to reign in at the top of the album chart as the amazing debut comes hot on the heels of his single, "Me Without You", reaching no. 1 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs and CHR charts and the AC Indicator chart.

TobyMac's street week schedule includes radio visits across the country, and last week he visited the Big Apple for media appearances on Fox & Friends and Fox & Friends' After the Show Show, Fox 411, FOX News Edge, and Glenn Beck TV's Liberty Treehouse. In celebration of "Me Without You" reaching no. 1 on this week's chart, he stopped by the Billboard offices to perform the song for the outlet's Chart Beat section. On Monday, August 27, Toby made a special guest appearance with Grammy®-nominated artist Mandisa on ABC's "Good Morning America" to perform her song "Good Morning".

The 12 tracks comprising Eye On It pull from TobyMac's personal influences ("Made For You" and "Family"), as well as a nod to his ascension into music ("Thankful For You"). Eye On It features musical guests including reigning GMA Dove Awards New Artist of the Year, Jamie Grace ("Favorite Song"), Group1Crew's Blanca Reyes ("UnStoppable") and Christian rap heavyweight Lecrae ("Forgiveness"). Along with TobyMac's first three solo projects, his 2009 release, Tonight, was recently certified Gold® by the R.I.A.A.® Written by TobyMac and David Garcia, "Me Without You" was the first track from Eye On It to be released to radio, where it claimed the no. 1 spot this week on the Billboard Christian Songs, CHR and Christian AC Indicator charts.
