Last Saturday night, “For The Love Of The Game” shook the rafters at the home of Ontario Hockey League’s Mississauga IceDogs, but this time it was not a recording but instead it was Pillar, the band that wrote the song, performing it live.
The event was the fourth annual End Poverty Concert celebrating the end of the World Vision 30 Hour Famine. Organizers of the event, Students For Justice, are a group of local high school students committed to a world where all people are treated equally and where people are free from hatred, persecution and poverty.
Each year, the show is attended by thousands of people and this year was their largest yet with performances by Thousand Foot Krutch, Pillar, Turn Off The Stars, Kiros, and Late Night Sanity.
Proceeds from the concert were donated to World Vision Canada, in hopes of building better lives for children and their families all over the world who are living in extreme poverty. Find out more about the End Poverty Concert at www.EndPovertyConcert.com and www.StudentsForJustice.ca.
