Grab a Dr. Pepper® and watch multiple webcam views of David Crowder Band recording, “A Collision”, releasing Sept. 27th! David Crowder Band tips their hat to the “The Truman Show” and offers a four-webcam view of “The Crowder Show” online 24/7 at http://www.acollisioniscoming.com.
Pushing the boundaries of worship music, the band members are now giving fans an unprecedented look inside the recording process as they work on their highly anticipated, third national release, “A Collision”, releasing Sept. 27th.
The recording of “A Collision”, which wraps up soon, is taking place in David Crowder’s new studio built in the historical barn in Waco, TX where Pepper the horse once lived, and the birthplace of the Dr. Pepper® soft drink formula. Crowder recently purchased the barn along with the home of the late Dr. Pepper® beverage creator, Wade Morrison. First sold in 1885, Dr. Pepper® is the oldest soft drink in America and a beverage of choice for Crowder.
In addition to the webcam view, the band members are posting blogs from the barn throughout the recording process at http://www.myspace.com/davidcrowderband. The site also features the video of the band’s Here Is Our King, recorded live at Passion 05 and featured on last month’s No. 1-selling CD, “Passion: How Great Is Our God”. The studio version of the song will be featured on “A Collision”.
A second David Crowder Band blog site can be found at http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=emprise34, where David Crowder recently mused:
“i didn’t get to the barn until like 10:10am which was late for me. i was to sing this morning so it was better to get a slower start to things. “rescue” was the song. i have been a bit worried about it as it has a large role to play at the end of the record. it is a very personal song and one that holds a lot of emotion and sometimes it is a difficult thing to get this into your voice and skin. but it was all very present. it is a wonderful thing to feel. i know a few people who are unable to feel anymore. life has just taken it out of them. so i sang. and i felt it all. i am glad.”
Steeped in community, David Crowder Band members write songs from their journey as members of University Baptist Church, a church they helped found on the campus of Baylor University, as well as from their journey as a band and as individuals. Nominated for three GMA Music Awards this year and capturing the attention of such significant media as the New York Times, CNN and more, the path of illumination has been an adventurous one for the band. Following its own headline tours, a major tour with Michael W. Smith and MercyMe and two very successful side recordings, “The Lime CD” and “Sunsets & Sushi: Experiments In Spectral Deconstruction”, “A Collision” also follows the band’s 2003 chart-topping release, “Illuminate”, which is approaching 200,000 units scanned.
You can find “Passion: How Great Is Our God”, “The Lime CD”, “Illuminate” and “Sunsets & Sushi: Experiments In Spectral Deconstruction” now at a Canadian Christian Retailer near you! To locate a store visit http://www.cmcstorefinder.com
