Australia’s United holds on to the #1 position according the latest statistics for the month of May from Canadian Christian retail outlets. The group, who just recently wrapped up a Canadian tour, held off strong showings from Jars of Clay (at #2 with “Redemption Song”
and Brian Doerksen’s resurgence (his “Today” album moves from #8 to #3).
The huge momentum of United’s “Look To You” make it a strong contender to stay at #1 for the month of June. The rest of the Top 10 is filled with familiar names, like Matt Redman and Casting Crowns returning to the higher reaches of the chart. Both artists have new albums releasing later this summer. New entries to the chart include Amy Grant’s second hymns project “Rock of Ages…Hymns & Faith” at #12, Joy Williams “Genesis” at #25, Jaci Velasquez with “Beauty Has Grace” at #27, Nichole Nordeman (who released very late in the month of May) with “Brave” at #34 and The Crabb Family with “Live At Brooklyn Tabernacle” at #49. This is the Crabb Family’s first foray into the Top 50.
