Alisha MacGregor’s song Trees has been named as one of the 20 finalist in the Unisong Songwriting competition in the Pop Ballad category.
This is the sixth song off The MacGregor’s Dark Beauty CD that has received songwriting honours at various international songwriting contests. Alisha is currently in Boston, Massachusettes studying at the Berklee College of Music on a summer school scholarship through the competition.
In the Gospel/Christian category, Vernon, BC’s Jill Paquette, was a finalist for Only Jesus, a collaboration with Michael Hill.
Unisong International Song Contest was established in 1997 and was the first truly international song contest created “by songwriters… for songwriters”. Previous Unisong judges & friends include Lamont Dozier, Diane Warren, Dave Koz, Peter Frampton, Fee Waybill, Randy Bachman, Andrew Gold, Don Was, Bruce Lundvall, Desmond Child and many more.
