Indelible Creative Group’s newest signing, Travis Cottrell ventures outside his worship leader role with Beth Moore’s Living Proof Ministries to offer a pop project of seismic proportions. The classically-trained Cottrell returns to his roots with Found, avaialble at Canadian Christian retail stores on November 7th.
Produced by Kent Hooper (Scott Krippayne, Charlie Hall, Clay Crosse), FOUND features big vocals, powerful instrumentals and sweeping melodies. Cottrell delivers a soul-stirring performance while giving God all the glory.
“I am a worship leader first,” Cottrell says of the new project, “but this kind of music was always a part of who I am, always part of my ministry; symphonic in nature, sacred without being churchy, big vocals, big singing… This is the first time I could really open up and sing on my own terms. This is the record my life has been pointing to.”
The album’s additional contributors make it increasingly intimate. Cottrell calls on longtime friend Scott Krippayne to co-write with him on FOUND as well as leading speaker/author Beth Moore and even his wife, Angela.
The debut single from Found, 2000 Years, ships to both Christian Adult Contemporary and Inspirational radio today. Cottrell’s ‘06-’07 road schedule is packed with Beth Moore conferences, attended by more than 150,000 people last year, as well as Women of Faith dates.
Since graduating with a church music degree from Belmont University in 1992, Travis Cottrell has made his mark as a songwriter, session singer, and music arranger. Cottrell’s longtime passion, however, is leading worship. The worship leader at Two Rivers Baptist Church, a 6,000-plus member congregation in Nashville. From 1994-1995, he has additionally facilitated music for many nationally known speakers and pastors. Today, Cottrell’s ministry is largely tied to his role as worship leader for national Beth Moore conferences in conjunction with her Living Proof Ministries.
