Abbotsford, BC native Brian Doerksen, known throughout the world for popular worship songs such as “Come, Now is the Time to Worship”, “Hope of the Nations”, “Faithful One”, “Refiner’s Fire”, and “Hallelujah (Your Love is Amazing)”, will be touring across Canada this spring.

Accompanied by his band, the tour will commence on April 17th in Kelowna, BC and wil end on May 29th in Charlottetown, PEI. The tour is in support of his 2006 award-winning album, Holy God. The album, released through Integrity Hosanna! Music, features ancient and modern sounds in reverence to God and includes duets with artists such as Christine Denté (Out of the Grey), Joseph Williams (Toto), and Debbie Fortnum.

In 2007, Doerksen won GMA Canada Covenant Awards in all of the six categories that he was nominated for: Artist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, Praise and Worship Album of the Year for Holy God, Song of the Year and Praise and Worship Song of the Year for the title track. More recently, Holy God received a 2008 Juno Award nomination in the Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year category.

The Spring tour will be the first of two Canadian tours planned for this year. In the Fall, Doerksen will be co-headlining a tour with Irish worship leader Kathryn Scott. Known for her songs ““Hungry” and “At The Foot Of the Cross”, Scott released her latest album I Belong in December 2007.

An important part of Brian Doerksen’s worship concerts this year will be the profiling of Christian Horizons, a non-denominational Christian ministry serving children with disabilities and children at risk in Canada and around the World since 1965.
