At a media luncheon at the CNN Center Dantanna’s downtown on Tuesday, Atlanta-based rockers Third Day became part of the selected group of artists being inducted into the Georgia Music Hall Of Fame.
They join Collective Soul, long-time Atlanta concert promoter Peter Conlon, and songwriter Bryan-Michael Cox. John L. Carson will be receiving the Pioneer Award. Singer Roy Hamilton, bassist Berry Oakley (Allman Brothers) and music mogul Shakir Stewart will be honoured posthumously
Past inductees of note include Newsong, Mylon LeFevre, Brenda Lee, The Lewis Family, Ronnie Milsap, Mike Curb, Chet Atkins, Allman Brothers Band, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Usher and many others.
The 31st annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame awards show will be broadcast live on GPB-TV September 19th from the Georgia World Congress Center. The evening will be hosted by broadcasters Monica Pearson and Leslie Fram.
