Dartmouth, NS based band The Contact are hitting the studio starting February 15th to record the follow up to the highly successful Paralyzed From The Soul Up. The recording will be done between Halifax, Columbus and Nashville and will be produced by Grammy® Award winner Michael Scott Quinlan (Benjamin Gate, Rebecca St. James, Delirious?).
The CD, to be called Until The Canvas Tears will be released during the first part of May. A national tour to promote the CD will begin in Calgary on May 4th and wind its way across Canada before having release parties in Halifax on June 8th and 9th.
The band has decided to have some fun and involve friends across the country in a contest designing new T-shirts for the release and tour. If you have some design talent they want to see your ideas. They want you to have fun and not feel restricted in anyway. Fans that choose to participate in this contest will have their designs put up on the bands myspace where voting will decide the top designs. If the band decides to use one or more of the designs submitted the persons responsible will be “handsomely compensated”. Remember that these designs will be sold at shows and online.
“We just decided to have some fun and let the fans get involved in the process a little bit” says keyboardist Jordan Allen. “There is a lot of talent out there and we have had such a great time the last year and a half touring the country and meeting people everywhere that we thought this would be a cool way to give back a little piece of the band to all those that have supported us. Who knows we may get something awesome and we are prepared to compensate appropriately if we do.”
Anyone requiring more information or having questions is invited to e-mail the band at thecontactmusic@gmail.com. Additionally, the band will supply it’s logo in color or black and white to anyone that might like to incorporate it in the design. The contest is open to anyone and deadline for entries is Wednesday, February 28th at 5:00PM Eastern.
