The Super Bowl party will continue on the Gospel Music Channel (GMC) television network on Saturday, February 9th at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT) when GMC presents the exclusive world premiere of Super Bowl Gospel Celebration 2008, the only gospel event sanctioned by the National Football League for Super Bowl Weekend.
The event, seen on GMC last year and ranked as one of the “Top 3 Must-See Events during Super Bowl Weekend” by USA Today, will be recorded live from Symphony Hall in Phoenix, AZ site of Super Bowl XLII this Friday night, February 1st. The show will feature the first-ever NFL Players All-Star Choir, which will be directed by the great Donnie McClurkin and invited guests include Indianapolis Colts Coach Tony Dungy, Pro-Bowl selection and Baltimore Ravens star Ray Lewis, fellow pro-bowler Tommie Harris of the Chicago Bears and players from each of the NFL’s 32 teams.
Joining McClurkin in performances will be gospel music favourites Patti Labelle, CeCe Winans, Marvin Winans, and Martha Munizzi along with other top NFL players making appearances. McClurkin co-hosts the evening with David Mann, aka Mr. Brown from Tyler Perry’s House of Pain television series and Perry’s movies.
Super Bowl Gospel Celebration 2008 will have numerous encores on GMC, including Sunday, February 10th (10 a.m. and 3 p.m. ET), prior to the NFL Pro Bowl game. For telecast times, visit www.GospelMusicChannel.com.
A highlight of the concert will be the appearance of the NFL Players Choir, gathered together for the first time and exclusively for the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration.
