Publish Date: Sep 20, 2006

The New Brunswick Gospel Music Hall of Fame has nominated Stephanie Mainville for a 2006 Mercy Award in the “Song and Dance” category. In 2005, Stephanie was nominated “Instrumentalist of the Year”. She opened last year’s Mercy Awards Gala with The Maritime Song accompanied by a troupe of traditional dancers. She will be returning to the Mercy Awards Gala this year to perform at the event at Fredericton’s Capital Community Church on Saturday, September 23rd.

The song You from Stephanie’s award-winning debut album was selected from among 500 submissions to the “Great Canadian Worship Song Search” and included on the 30 track Sea to Sea: I See The Cross 2 CD compilation. GMA Canada (Gospel Music Association Canada) announced last week that this project is up for a 2006 Covenant Award for “Special Events/Compilation of the Year”. This is Stephanie’s 3rd Covenant Award nomination. In 2005, Stephanie received her first Covenant Award as Ern’s Waltz was named Canada’s “Instrumental Song of the Year”. The 28th Annual Covenant Awards will be handed out in Calgary on October 27th.

More recently, Mainville appeared on the cover of [here] magazine, the urban voice of New Brunswick.

Several singles from Family are in regular rotation at many Christian radio stations across Canada and the album is available at Canadian Christian retailers nationwide.
