Starfield, the award-winning modern worship/rock band from Winnipeg, will release its second album, Beauty In The Broken, through Sparrow Records to Canadian Christian retail stores everywhere on May 16th.
Produced by 2006 GMA Music Award Producer of the Year nominee Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin, Steven Curtis Chapman, Bethany Dillon) and Matt Bronleewe (Jars of Clay, Michael W. Smith), the set features an ambitious rock reworking of the classic hymn How Great Thou Art and the original first radio single My Generation. The latter shows Starfield’s heart for its growing student audience with lyrics that proclaim, “How do we feel? / My generation is aching for real / Dying for love, crying for truth / My generation is aching for You.”
Starfield has gained a loyal following by playing 200 concerts per year across North America and will continue touring in support of Beauty In The Broken. Upcoming Canadian concert events include Victoria, BC on March 19th for a city-wide family night of worship, Unite In Worship in Toronto on May 13th, and in Montreal over Victoria Day weekend as part of CJYC 2006 together with the Newsboys, Sanctus Real and Da’ T.R.U.T.H.
