Sparrow Records award-winning modern worship band Starfield readies the release of its latest studio project, The Saving One, February 23rd, 2010. The album will feature Starfield’s signature energetic worship songs, many reflecting a tone of personal confession.

As with previous outings, including 2008’s critically acclaimed I Will Go, Starfield continues to write songs for the church community. The Saving One is no exception, showcasing the signature harmonies of brothers Tim and Jon Neufeld on 10 soaring worship anthems.

“One of the many great things about working with Starfield is that because they have such a sizable and devoted following in the Church, they are laser-focused on writing songs that connect with that audience,” says Vice President of A&R for EMI CMG Brad O’Donnell. “Even before The Saving One’s release, we’re seeing indications that this new record has some of the best worship songs they’ve written yet.”

Starfield also reaches new lyrical maturity and vulnerability with The Saving One, as it explores songs of a more personal nature including the confession of doubt on “Something to Say” and the plea for restoration in lead radio single “Rediscover You”.

”’Rediscover You’ is as accurate a description of my journey with Christ as anything I’ve ever written,” says Tim. “I desperately find myself needing to rediscover the things of God – I want real, and I want passionate. I want to relearn ‘walking by faith,’ and I found incredible freedom in speaking those desires out in the lyrics.”

The creation of The Saving One began as a collaborative writing effort that spanned several months. Tim and Jon took time to sit down and write at home several times per week before teaming up with songwriters Ed Cash, Ben Glover and Hillsong’s Mia Fieldes, as well as songwriter/producer Ian Eskelin. Starfield and Eskelin then came together and recorded the record in nine straight days. The result is a Starfield album designed to reach the listener in a personal setting and within a church community.

“Rediscover You” is already impacting at Christian AC and CHR radio with multiple adds and spins early on. The band will be performing at Dare2Share events in February and March 2010.
