“Skillet never ceases to amaze me. These guys bring a high energy show packed with great songs, production and an encouraging message. Everyone in the industry is always asking ‘who is the next great headliner’? I believe we just found it,” said Shane Quick of Premier Productions.
“Very few rock bands stir the kind of excitement that Skillet does,” said Chris Barrett, President of Rock the Sound Concerts who promoted the NYC concert.
“We sold out with 9 days remaining and had to turn away hundreds. We believe so much in Skillet and what they do and that we have booked them
for Rock the Sound IV in Bridgeport, CT, our biggest concert, at the Arena at Harbor Yard.”
Skillet will be at CJYC in Montreal this weekend, together with Delirious?, Krystal Meyers, Building 429 and others. They will be at YC Alberta next weekend. While speaking with Skillet during YMZ’s recent trip to GMA Music Week in Nashville, Korey Cooper told us, “We’re going to be bringing some special things for you guys”. John Cooper added, “Skillet likes YC. I Love Canada!”

During the 39th Annual Dove Awards, Skillet won Rock Recorded Song of the Year for “Comatose” written by John Cooper and Brian Howes. “The GMA Award show was absolutely awesome! It made me feel even more proud to be a part of the Christian music industry. Winning the Dove was an unexpected highlight of the night, second only to saying ‘Hi’ to Amy Grant and giving her a high five,” says John Cooper.
Comatose is available at Christian retailers across Canada. For more information on Skillet, visit the band’s YMZ artist page.
