YMZ would like to congratulate Sanctus Real bass player Dan Gartley and Amy Huffine on their recent nuptials. The happy couple was married on March 4th at Ecclesia Church in Franklin, TN.
Also, belated congratulations go out to lead singer Matt Hammitt and his wife, Sarah, on the birth of their first child, a daughter named Emmerson Mae. Dad’s rave reviews of his baby girl are even outdoing those for his band’s next album, The Face Of Love. “She’s healthy, wide eyed, and beautiful; what a blessing!”
“Emmy Mae” arrived two weeks earlier than expected on February 23rd. Hammitt had to catch a last-minute flight out of New Mexico for the joyous occasion and missed Sanctus Real’s concert scheduled for that evening. However, the other band members found a unique way to go on with the show in the lead singer’s absence. They turned the event into a Q&A session with fans and held a sneak preview listening party for the new album.
The band will be back out on the road on March 31st in support of their upcoming album The Face Of Love. Canadian stops will include Overflow 2006 in Waterloo, Ontario on May 12th and CJYC 2006 in Montreal, QC on May 20th. Check the YMZ concert listings for more detalis on these and other events.
The first single, I’m Not Alright, has entered the Top 20 of Radio & Record’s Christian CHR (#17) and Rock (#20) National Airplay© charts and still climbing.
The Face Of Love will be available at Canadian Christian retailers on April 4th. To hear audio snippets from the album, visit Sanctus Real’s YMZ artist page.
