This week, we premiere releases from a rapper from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a singer-songwriter from Eugene, Oregon.
As a child of the 70’s, Rob Hodge has seen the struggle and crime of the inner city ghetto life in North Philadelphia. His songs are lyrical essays of tales and stories on how he’s seen lives transformed through the grace of God.
For singer-songwriter Mat Kearney, Nothing Left To Lose is about how the echoes of your past can guide you through what lies ahead. On the title-track of his major-label debut, Mat Kearney retraces the long road that brought him from his hometown in Eugene, OR to his adopted home in Nashville, Tennessee.
No matter what your musical tastes are, both albums are lyrically challenging. Head on over to HearItFirst.ca to give these releases a listen.
