Remedy Drive Takes Journey Toward Daylight

Publish Date: May 28, 2008

Newly signed Word Records rock band Remedy Drive releases its debut project, Daylight Is Coming, August 26th. Produced by 2008 GMA Dove Award winning Producer of the Year Ian Eskelin, the album showcases Remedy Drive’s high-energy, piano-driven rock sound.

“Remedy Drive is the highway we’re all on as a band, and we want to steer people toward redemption,” says lead David Zach. “We’ve not arrived, we’re all on a journey. And we don’t have all the answers. But we’re also not afraid to ask the questions, and we hope that our music will inspire everyone to do the same.”

Brothers David (vocals, keys, guitar), Paul (guitars), Philip (bass) and Daniel Zach (drums) name musical influences that range from Muse and The Killers to U2, Switchfoot and Weezer. “Phil is always trying to push us in a more electro direction, which keeps us on our toes,” says David. “When I think of what Paul brings to the table, imagine a guitar player that tries to imitate a symphony. And Philip does things with bass lines that I’ve never heard anyone else do. Working together is so much fun because everyone contributes something unique.”

Remedy Drive’s first single, “Daylight”, went for adds at Christian AC/CHR radio May 23rd. The song draws a parallel between nature’s most basic function and life’s most challenging moments. “We wanted this jam track to be a home for a memorable lyric and melody,” says David. “In Lord of the Rings, Gandalf said, ‘At dawn, look to the East,’ and that’s the message we’re offering here: Even in the most desperate times, each new day provides a glimmer of hope.”

As an independent act, Remedy Drive played 200 dates a year for three consecutive years. Keeping that pace, the band recently wrapped the spring 2008 “LifeLight Tour” with Building 429 and Bread of Stone. This summer, Remedy Drive will appear at major festivals including Spirit West Coast Del Mar, Spirit West Coast Monterey, Crossover, Ichthus, Higher Ground, Rock the Light, and Lifelight, as well as other performances and youth camps.

Call up your local Canadian Christian radio station and request the catchy “Daylight”. A listing of stations can be found in the YMZ Media section.
