Sereniti Records recording sensation Patricia Shirley was honoured with a Canadian Urban Music Award (CUMA) when her single Real Love was selected as Best Gospel Recording.

The Canadian Urban Music Awards are presented annually by the Urban Music Association of Canada (UMAC) to recognize those artists who are setting the standard on Canada’s thriving Urban Music scene. UMAC is dedicated to promoting and recognizing the diverse artistry of Canada’s urban singers, songwriters and producers through a number of workshops, seminars and programs that culminate annually in the CUMA’s. This is the first such award for Patricia, a Toronto native whose debut album, In This Time, has received positive reviews and significant radio airplay.

Patricia Shirley is a dynamic artist whose signature is her vocal versatility. Equally adept with traditional gospel songs or contemporary music with an urban flavour, the multitalented songbird has made a big splash with In This Time, which was also nominated for a Canadian Gospel Music Association Covenant Award. Patricia, who has thrilled audiences all over North America with her clean, crisp vocals, has been warmly received by the urban radio audience. The broad appeal of Patricia’s music has made her a much-sought-after performer all across the music spectrum.

Patricia Shirley is signed to Atlanta-based Sereniti Records, an independent label dedicated to breaking barriers and crossing over boundaries.
