Bill Gaither is pleased to announce the newest addition to the Gaither Vocal Band, tenor Wes Hampton, who recently sang with the Vocal Band at the Billy Graham Crusade in New York.
“I am so excited to have found a voice like Wes’s accompanied by a warm, wonderful spirit,” Bill states. “To be honest with you, there are few decisions I take more seriously than filling a role such as this, because not only are we filling a vocal part, we are choosing a person with whom we will spend many long hours. Our audiences have graciously trusted our choices as we have brought new talent into the Vocal Band over the years, and I want to honor that trust with a very careful selection process. I am very optimistic about this new chapter in the life of the Vocal Band!”
Wes comes to us from Birmingham, Alabama, where he has served as a Minister for Worship. He studied music at the University of Alabama and Trevecca Nazarene University. Wes and his wife, Andrea, have a 16-month-old son, Barrett, and a baby due in February. Bill and Gloria, along with everyone at Gaither Music Group, welcome Wes and his family.
Wes replaces former GVB tenor David Phelps, who recently resigned to pursue his solo career.
You can experience the Gaither Vocal Band with Wes Hampton live in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre on Saturday, September 24th. Click here for more information.
