The Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival received its “gospel shakedown” two weekend ago when INO Records’ Mike Farris performed there on June 13th. Farris, back by the 11-piece Roseland Rhythm Revue, appeared alongside more than 100 other legendary artists including all music genres at the world famous music festival in Manchester, TN performing in front of hundreds of crazed music fanatics.

“Salvation’s gospel songs got things feeling like a fiery Sunday service, feet stomping, arms waving, voices calling back to the stage,” describes Nicole Keiper from The Tennessean. “He holds the vocal clarity and power your R&B sirens aim for, but as Farris wriggles through expressive runs, his voice darting from a throaty growl to a clear howl, it comes off far more like a natural outpouring of energy than a preening display.” The article was also reprinted in USA Today and can be read here.
Just prior to Bonnaroo, Farris received an Americana Honors and Awards nomination for New/Emerging Artist of the year. The two-hour Americana Music Association Honors and Awards event will be broadcast live on XM Satellite Radio on September 18 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and rebroadcast on Sirius Satellite Radio and BBC2 Radio.
Farris also continues to provide family fun entertainment to a full house every Sunday evening starting at 7:00PM at Station Inn in downtown Nashville for Sunday Night Shout.
