This week’s premieres features a foot stomping live recording and the latest from one of music’s most intelligent bands.
After 15 years of traveling from city to city, singing with acts such as The Screamin’ Cheetah Wheelies, Peaceful Knievel and even Stevie Ray Vaughn’s Double Trouble, Mike has had his moments in the spotlight. In 2004, Mike Farris’ decided to step away from singing about his losses and instead sing about his redemption.
Farris’ Sunday Night Shout! residency shows in Nashville, Tennessee have become a must see event. These shows combine old time Gospel and blues with a power that uplifts and energizes its audience and reaches both believers and non-believers alike.
This live album was recorded at the legendary Station Inn over a six week period and truly captures the live experience of a Mike Farris show.
Acclaimed rock band Jars Of Clay, known for its innovative, intelligent music and humanitarian work worldwide, has delivered its 10th studio album, The Long Fall Back To Earth.
This 14-track follow-up to its 2006 Good Monsters, seamlessly segues in theme from the concept of “digging into” community on its last album, to the day-to-day experience of being “within” community.
Lead vocalist/lyricist Don Haseltine, capitalizes on his now-signature ability to write reflective and engaging songs, exploring real-life issues. Haseltine delves into the bare bones reality of the beauty and tension of relationships and what makes them worth fighting for; a common thread for every listener.
The Long Fall Back To Earth, produced by Jars Of Clay and Ron Aniello (Guster, Lifehouse, Leigh Nash, Kendall Payne), melds compelling lyrical content with hints of an upbeat 80’s influenced, synth-driven flavour. Anthemic, arena-swelling textures and the bands trademark vocals, amount to the “biggest” sounding Jars Of Clay project yet.
These three time Grammy® Award-winnners are back, and for fans, it’s not a moment too soon.
