On the heels of a major promotional tour in support of their fifth recording Coming Up To Breathe, multi-platinum band MercyMe has once again hit the Billboard Top 200 SoundScan charts in a big way, debuting at No. 13, sandwiched between Toby Keith and Shakira’s latest, selling over 58,000 units in its first week of release. The album entered at No. 1 on Billboard’s Contemporary Christian SoundScan chart.

Along with sales, MercyMe’s first single for the project, So Long Self, was the No. 1 most-added single at mainstream AC radio for two week in a row, already climbed up to No. 22 on the Billboard mainstream AC chart, No. 4 on both the Hot Christian and Hot Christian Adult Contemporary chart. It is also No. 23 on the R&R (Radio & Records) AC chart in just 21 days. The single set records as it shot to No. 4 on R&R’s Christian AC chart in just a few weeks, and is also climbing their Christian CHR chart, currently at No. 19.

“We have certainly felt a ground swell of support for this band and their new project on every level,” remarked INO president Jeff Moseley. “Radio, media and retail have really come to the table to set this record up in a huge way, and for that we are truly grateful.”

MercyMe just wrapped up an extensive promotional tour, including television appearances on several major networks, interviews with several radio networks, a New York Times review and front page Arts feature, a CCM Magazine cover story, Billboard feature, R&R feature, and more.
