This week’s premieres include two worship albums; one spontaneous and the other steeped in roots music.

World renowned for her Vineyard classic “Breathe” (This Is The Air I Breathe), Marie Barnett (wife of worship leader John Barnett) releases Heaven Came Down.

Heaven Came Down is infused with the sounds of folk, bluegrass and country blended with introspective lyrics and Marie’s emotional vocals. The result is an album of songs, recorded at the Barnetts’ Montana ranch, that seem to simultaneously reach for the heavens, yet stay grounded here on earth. Friend and label-mate Ryan Delmore lends his voice to several tracks.

Jason Upton’s newest release, On The Rim Of The Visible World includes 10 tracks recorded “At Home” (in Jason’s studio) and a further six tracks recorded “On the Road” (live at ministry events).

On The Rim Of The Visible World is a musical documentation of songs, friendship and following Jesus. What could be a better environment for such an endeavour than the living room of Jason’s home? During the first quarter of 2009, three recording sessions took place resulting in 10 tracks, recorded “at home”, that take you on a journey of varied musical and spiritual terrain.

Just prior to releasing this project, Jason decided to add six tracks, recorded “on the road”, selected from live recordings over the past year.

Whether at home or on the road, On the Rim of the Visible World will turn on the lights of your imagination to the narrow and mysterious way of following Jesus… with Jason Upton and the Goodland Band as your sojourners.
