Kutless And Superchick Featured On HearItFirst.ca

Publish Date: Jun 20, 2008

This week’s premieres will help you rock your way into summer.

Over 1.5 million albums sold, 4 studio releases and 9 #1 CHR & Rock hits, Kutless returns this summer to deliver their brand new album To Know That You’re Alive.

For this album, lead singer Jon Micah Sumrall set pen to paper to craft a dozen more cuts of intensely personal reflections that also connect with relational appeal across an alt-rock centring that ranges from bone crunching to heart wrenching.

The album is packed with the band’s boldest artistic statements to date, stemming in part from work with producer Pete Kipley (The Afters, MercyMe, Phil Wickham). The band also added extra fuel to the fire by packing their bags for London, England and setting up shop in the famed Abbey Road Studios (The Beatles) to record with the London Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic.

Inpop Records’ sister-fronted band Superchick follows up 700,000 career albums and 70 film, television and video-game placements with the premiere of its boldest, most unapologetic project to date, appropriately titled Rock What You Got.

This album was three years in the making and comes on the heels of Superchick’s most successful album ever, Beauty From Pain 1.1, which landed three No. 1 radio singles including “We Live” and “Stand In The Rain”.

Seeking out world changers in the lost corners of a generation, Superchick noisily challenges the status quo, while journaling the band members’ battles with depression and cancer in the quieter moments of the record.

The CD also features the much request radio mix of their #1 radio single, “Stand In The Rain (Symphonic Mix)”.

Toronto-native Dave Ghazarian shows off his guitar skills in “Guitar Hero”.

The band has released three radio singles simultaneously; “Hey Hey” to Rock Radio, “Crawl” to AC and “Hold” to CHR.

Rock What You Got and To Know That You’re Alive will be available this coming Tuesday, June 24th at your local Canadian Christian retailer. Keep track of all the new and upcoming releases via your own personal copy of the July New Music Tuesday poster. Head over to HearItFirst.ca to hear more from these new releases.
