GRAMMY® nominee and Daywind Records’ artist, Karen Peck & New River made a quick stop in Nashville this week to participate in activities leading up to the GRAMMY® Awards, for which the group is nominated for Best Southern, Country, or Bluegrass Album.

On Tuesday, January 22nd, the group started the day with a visit to New Day Christian Distribution where they had lunch with the sales team and performed several songs from their GRAMMY® nominated release, Journey Of Joy. That night, Karen Peck & New River attended the GRAMMY® Awards reception honouring the nominees at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel. While there, the group was able to talk with several media outlets as well as with other nominees and music industry professionals.

On Wednesday, January 23rd, Karen Peck & New River was the in-studio guest for the Solid Gospel morning show with Gregg Hutchins. During the interview, the group discussed their recent GRAMMY® nomination, talked with several fans that called in, and featured several songs including their current single, “Hey”.

“We always love going to Nashville to visit with our record label and distribution company. We enjoyed visiting with the sales team at New Day and with Solid Gospel sharing our excitement for our GRAMMY® nomination. The GRAMMY® nominee reception made the trip even more exciting. We had so much fun meeting some of the other nominees and music industry professionals. This experience is surreal, and we are very humbled and thankful to the Lord for this time in our lives,” stated Karen Peck Gooch.

The GRAMMY® Awards will be celebrating its “Golden Anniversary” of music recognition at the February 10th, 2008, ceremony, to be held at the Los Angeles’ Staples Center, and will broadcast in high-definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on CBS from 8-11:30 p.m. (ET/PT).
