This week’s premieres include the sophomore project from a pop-rock band and a new album from one of Gospel music’s most prolific songwriters.
Founded by lead singer Shane Bowers and keyboardist Shaun Bennett, youth group phenomenon Julian Drive additionally comprises guitarist Jesse Triplett and bassist James Nitz. After playing the local church circuit near its hometown of Athens, Georgia for some time, Julian Drive entered and won the 2004 Exalting Him National Talent Search, beating out 2000 other contestants. This platform provided opportunities for the band to perform nationally, sharing the stage with such artists as Big Daddy Weave, David Crowder*Band, NewSong, Day of Fire, Disciple, Israel Houghton, Tree63, Building 429, Salvador, The Katinas, and David Phelps, among others. Today Julian Drive continues to travel from coast to coast, performing an average of 200 dates annually.
Julian Drive’s debut Inpop Record release, My Coming Day, is the result of its efforts these last few years. Boasting a sound comparable to popular artists like MercyMe, Daughtry, and Casting Crowns, the band’s forthcoming record features 10 tracks of straight-ahead pop-rock.
The album’s kick-off single “From Your Hands”, is currently vying for adds at Christian Adult Contemporary radio.
Donald Lawrence has solidified his place in Contemporary Gospel history as one of the most prolific songwriters of our time. Lawrence now releases, arguably, his most compelling and ground-breaking release to date, The Law Of Confession, Part I.
Drenched in Biblical principles and inspired by a life-changing series taught by Lawrence’s pastor, Bill Winston of Chicago’s Living Word Christian Center, The Law Of Confession, Part I serves as a veritable soundtrack to Winston’s tome of the same name, and has all the elements to spark a movement and cause a great shift in the thinking and daily practices of believers.
This album is rife with passion, power and truth and is certain to inspire a mighty movement.
Specially priced at $9.99, My Coming Day is available now while The Law Of Confession, Part I will be available on February 3rd at your local Canadian Christian retailer.
