Jonny Lang’s “Turn Around” To Be Serviced To Christian Retail

Publish Date: Aug 23, 2006

GRAMMY®-nominated, platinum-selling artist Jonny Lang releases his fifth album, Turn Around, to Canadian Christian retail on September 19th. This will mark the first time that one of Lang’s albums will be available in the Christian marketplace.

Lang topped the Billboard New Artist chart with his first album at age 15, toured with the Rolling Stones and Aerosmith, performed with B. B. King and Buddy Guy, and now stands as a mature creative force, made more sensitive yet also toughened by life’s adventures. He’s learned what it means to rise above hard times and to find meaning where chaos seemed to rule. These insights, and the emotions they unleash, makes Turn Around the pivotal album of Jonny Lang’s career to date – a passage that links the triumphs of his past to the promise of his future.

“With this album I want to focus, more than ever before, on my purpose in life,” Lang explains. “I’ve been so incredibly blessed. My wife and I just had our fifth anniversary. I get to do what I love for a living. But it wasn’t so long ago that I was spiraling downward in a lot of ways, until God touched my life and set me on the right track. I feel a huge debt to give glory back to Him for everything He has done for me. “Every record I’ve done has felt progressively more and more like the real me,” he sums up. “But more than anything I’ve done, this one comes straight from my heart.”

Produced by GRAMMY® winning songwriter/performers Drew Ramsey and Shannon Sanders (India.Arie, Temptations, Nicole C. Mullen), and Lang, and anchored by former Prince New Power Generation drummer Michael Bland, Turn Around is the first of what will become his most moving and enduring works. There is funk and Gospel energy inherent in these 14 songs, which includes My Love Remains, co-written with five-time GRAMMY® winner and the Gospel Music Association’s most awarded artist, Steven Curtis Chapman.

With three radio singles from the album, “Thankful” and “Bump In The Road” being servicing to Gospel and Christian AC/CHR radio respectively, and “Anything’s Possible,” which was last week’s top Most Added song at Triple A radio according to Radio & Records magazine, fans will also be able to see Lang perform new material from Turn Around in concerts this summer and on a 40-city tour this fall including a stop at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver on October 13th.
