Independent singer/songwriter, JJ Heller has kicked off 2007 with a whirlwind of accolades for her recently released CD, Only Love Remains. Known by her rapidly growing legion of fans as a songwriter of gentle bravery who wraps her thought-provoking lyrics in quietly stirring melodies, Heller has recently been capturing the attention of music critics across the country. In their January/February 2007 issue, Performing Songwriter Magazine named her one of their “DIY Top 12 Picks” of independent singer/songwriters who have released an album without the backing of a label. Christian Musician Magazine has declared her to be “one of the great surprises of 2006,” while Christian Music Suite 101 has proclaimed her among the “Top Ten Independent Artists of 2006.”

Such declarations of artistic excellence have become the norm for the soft-spoken Heller. Yet it is her passion for the message in her music that drives the West Coast native to perform before audiences of a few dozen at a quaint coffee shop to over 1,000 people at concerts and Sunday morning worship services. And it is that passionate message that has marked 2006 as a year to remember for JJ Heller.

RED CARPET: JJ and her husband Dave walked the red carpet for the premiere of Charlotte’s Web in Nashville, along with country superstars such as Reba McIntyre and Montgomery Gentry.

REMUDA RANCH: JJ’s insight and sensitivity consistently draw audiences to her music. Her songs offer encouragement and touch on issues of self-image and worry, questions of faith and feelings of loneliness that can affect everyone. Perhaps that is why her guest performances during several chapel services held at the renowned eating disorder treatment facility, Remuda Ranch, were so powerfully received.

CAMPUS CRUSADE WINTER CONFERENCE: Tagged by BuddyHollywood.com as an “impeccably prescient” songwriter, JJ was selected by Campus Crusade for Christ to headline a special concert during their 2006-2007 Winter Conference in San Diego, Calif.

The momentum continues to build for JJ Heller during 2007. In addition to a full schedule of performances, Heller is busy writing for her next full-length CD. She is due in the studio this fall with GRAMMY-winning producer Mitch Dane to begin recording the new project, with a possible 5-6 song Christmas EP in the works.
