It has been an unusually busy month for BEC Recordings artist Jeremy Camp. Not only was he up for five awards at the 37th Annual GMA Music Awards held Wednesday, April 5th, Camp was again named Songwriter of the Year as well as nabbing Song of the Year at the 28th Annual ASCAP Christian Music Awards. Yet, his best award of all was welcoming to the world his new daughter, Arianne Mae.

On Monday, April 3rd, Camp was awarded top honors at the 28th Annual ASCAP Christian Music Awards. For the second year in a row, he was named Songwriter of the Year for penning his hit singles Take You Back and This Man, as well as winning Song Of The Year for Take You Back.

Then Camp and his wife, Adie, are elated at the birth of their second daughter, Arianne Mae, who decided to join the Camp family in the early morning of Wednesday, April 5th, arriving almost three weeks early. Arianne Mae was born at 1:44 am, weighing 5 lbs 13 oz. and was 19 inches long. She is joined by her proud big sister, Isabella Rose, now 18 months. The entire family is doing well.

That night, not only did Camp perform in a tribute to Steven Curtis Chapman at the 35th Annual GMA Music Awards, Camp also won yet another Dove Award, this time in the Special Event Album category for his participation on Music Inspired by the Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Camp wrote and performed the song Open Up Your Eyes for the multi-artist project. Camp was also nominated in four other categories: Best Male Vocalist, Artist of the Year, Rock Recorded Single for Lay Down My Pride, and Pop/Contemporary Album for Restored. Now adding this new Dove to his shelf, Camp has a total of five GMA Awards, as he was 2004 and 2005’s Male Vocalist of the Year, 2004’s New Artist of the Year, and 2005’s Rock Recorded Song for Stay from his debut release, Stay.

Camp is returning to the studio to record for his upcoming fall 2006 release on BEC Recordings. More information to come!
