Mobile-based Christian music label Integrity Music received its first Grammy® Award last Sunday with the presentation to the label’s gold-selling artist Israel and New Breed during the 49th Annual Grammy® Awards held in Los Angeles.

The group, represented by lead singer/producer/songwriter Israel Houghton, won a Grammy® for Traditional Gospel Album Of The Year for their Alive in South Africa CD.

Israel and New Breed received a total of four Grammy® nominations this year landing them in the same company as Beyoncé, Gnarls Barkley and Justin Timberlake. The group’s three other nominations were for the categories of Best Gospel Performance, Best Gospel Song and Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album.

“We so pleased and excited for Israel and New Breed… this is a well-deserved Grammy® and we are honored to work with artists of their caliber,” said Integrity Music President Don Moen. “I’m also thankful for our team at Integrity who poured themselves into this project to help make it a milestone success for Israel and New Breed and for our company.”

Israel and New Breed are Dove, Stellar and Soul Train Award winners. Their albums, Alive in South Africa, A Timeless Christmas, Live From Another Level, Real and New Season are currently available at Canadian Christian retail. Find out more about these albums on New Breed’s YMZ artist page.
