Inpop Records announces the signing of Houston, Texas-based, singer/songwriter Jimmy Needham. Needham, a college student at Texas A&M, has made a name for himself on the independent circuit for the last two years with his soulful pop sound and passionate evangelical focus.
Reminiscent of Jason Mraz and Marc Broussard, Needham combines his strong, accomplished vocals with a bluesy acoustic guitar and meaningful song lyrics for a sound all his own.
His forthcoming Inpop Records debut, Speak, showcases Needham’s singer/songwriter style while exposing the rock, pop and jazz-influenced side of his art as well. Needham, along with producer Troy Warren, Jr., crafted the 11-song disc to illuminate his musical chops and ministry objectives. While the music is driving and upbeat, Speak delivers thought-provoking content that explores the redemptive nature of Christ and the freedom found in following Him.
“Jimmy has true artistic talent and amazing songwriting ability,” says Inpop Records President Dale Bray. “There is something unique and genuine about his music. As a songwriter, he captures the simplicity and complexity of life all in one song. Inpop is proud to partner with Jimmy’s ministry and music in the days ahead,” he says.
For the past year and a half, Jimmy has been heavily involved in street evangelism in the College Station, Texas, area. Jimmy now leads a street evangelism team on a weekly basis. Evangelism is an area of ministry which Jimmy remains committed to as a part of his ongoing vision.
“I am looking forward to my new friendship with Inpop,” says Needham. “I love the artists, and I love the staff. I have the privilege of honoring the Lord together with them. It’s going to be good,” he says.
