This week’s premieres include two highly anticipated releases from two of Christian music’s premier artists.
On the evening of Sunday, March 9th 2008, thousands of worshippers gathered to fill the Acer Arena in Sydney as Hillsong Church recorded their latest live worship album, This Is Our God.
The night was riveting, as the stadium filled with thousands of voices, eyes raised heavenward, creating an expectancy that welcomed the very presence of God. “We come together and we say, ‘This is who we are, God. We need You, we love You, and we’re going to give everything to You’. It’s actually about the church coming together and singing with One Voice, One Passion, One Heart, giving all our praise to God,” says Joel Houston, Creative Director for Hillsong.
A number of new songwriters, worship leaders and musicians joined Reuben Morgan, Joel Houston, Darlene Zschech and Marty Sampson on the platform, capturing the sound of a new generation, and entering into a new season of worship and song.
The DVD includes an extra track, “Alive In You”. A CD-ROM songbook also available.
Visit the YMZ Media section and check out the EPK for the DVD and hear some amazing testimonies.
The new Third Day album Revelation is the 11th studio project from the group.
Recorded in Los Angeles, this marks the first time Third Day has worked on a project outside of the South. The band’s signature rock sounds gets an infusion of new energy thanks to the band’s new collaboration with producer Howard Benson (Daughtry, Flyleaf, Hoobastank, P.O.D.). The album features guest appearances by Lacey Mosely of Flyleaf, Chris Daughtry and Robert Randolph.
The album has already produced the massive radio hit, “Call My Name”. The song maintains its No. 1 position for the sixth consecutive week on the R&R Christian AC and CHR Monitored chart for the week ending July 18th.
Both albums will be arriving at your local Canadian Christian retailer on July 22nd. Keep track of all the new and upcoming releases via your own personal copy of the July New Music Tuesday poster. Head over to HearItFirst.ca to hear more from these new releases.
