Hello Kelly Announces New Tour and New Music

Publish Date: Jan 08, 2007

Canadian indie rock powerhouse Hello Kelly have announced their upcoming “Green Things Grow” tour happening in cities throughout Ontario in January and February of 2007. The tour will coincide with the release of the band’s new EP, also titled Green Things Grow.

Lead singer and songwriter Francois Goudreault, Jr. explains “Green Things Grow” this way, saying “the idea behind it is that everything and everybody grows – that growth is natural and healthy. Hello Kelly’s mission has always been to encourage, challenge and empower our listeners to grow – grow their confidence, grow their wisdom, grow their happiness, grow their faith.”

Hello Kelly has been touring throughout Canada and the US for the past two and a half years, sharing the stage with the biggest names in Christian rock including Superchic[k], John Reuben, Kids In The Way and Starfield. Over that time the band has played shows from Alberta to Nova Scotia and has toured all the way south to Florida as part of this fall’s Rock Hop & Roll Tour. The band has also had good radio success with three songs from their previous EP The Modern Day Fades Away reaching #1 at Christian radio in Canada.

Francy, as Hello Kelly’s fans affectionately know him, expands on the “Green Things Grow” concept and says “the idea behind it is that we are all green things. We’re all part of God’s creation and plan – so you could think of it as us being a bunch of plants who are ready and waiting to grow. But ‘green’ also means inexperienced. We’re all a bunch of greenhorns, learning as we go. The encouraging part is that we DO grow and learn lessons. Hello Kelly as a band has grown and changed, I’ve changed as a songwriter, our fans have grown and the music has matured. The songs on this EP are showing that. They’ve all got to do with going through something from which we should be able to take a lesson and grow from it.”

In addition to bringing a great live show for their fans, Hello Kelly will be partnering with some great sponsors to make this tour a real success. “We’re really excited about having all of these partners on board to support the tour,” explains Chris Vacher, Hello Kelly’s manager. “For the first time in their history, the World Vision 30 Hour Famine is supporting an artist’s tour. To have KingdomBound as a sponsor is a real honour and the band is looking forward to appearing at the festival again this summer. Having YourMusicZone.com help us to get the word out to Hello Kelly’s fans is really important. These shows are also going to look and sound unbelievable thanks to the guys at Late Gig Productions!”

Advance tickets for all “Green Things Grow” tour dates are now available online at www.hellokellyonline.com and all advance ticket buyers will be entered into a draw for a Nintendo Wii prize pack. One ballot for each advance ticket purchased will be entered into the draw.

Joining Hello Kelly on this tour will be modern worship band Nine O Five, based out of Port Perry, ON. Nine O Five can be easily compared to groups such as Hillsong United and Delirious?, as they have had a tremendous influence on the direction and musical style of the band.
