Fan favourite foursome Hawk Nelson headed out last week for their first baseball park tour hitting Minor League Baseball markets in the southern U.S. selling more than 6,800 tickets in the debut week.
On the Hawk Nelson Baseball Tour, the band performs a full concert either before or after the baseball game playing to fans who have purchased a concert ticket. The event also features The Send and appearances by VeggieTales characters. The band will continue to play across the country hitting more than 30 baseball stadiums including the Major League Baseball franchises with the Kansas City Royals (7/28), L.A. Dodgers (8/19), and Minnesota Twins (9/15). This weekend, fans in Southern Ontario will be able catch the tour when it reaches Buffalo, NY.
In addition to hitting the baseball diamonds, Hawk Nelson will be partnering with Major League Baseball for a fun and creative promotion featuring the band on MLB.com, where the site receives nine million hits a day. The band will be visiting the New York headquarters for a studio performance and interview to be used throughout the baseball season.
Hawk Nelson won the hearts of fans and media nationwide since their debut release in June 2004 with Letters to the President. Most recently, the band premiered the music video for the radio single Zero, which addresses teen suicide. The single is currently at No. 21 at Christian Rock and jumped nine slots to No. 17 at CHR.
