Cofounder and worship leader for the growing women’s conference “Girlfriends in God” and author of the newly published Harvest House book Broken into Beautiful, Gwen Smith recently recorded a twelve song set while leading an evening of worship at Lake Forest Church in Huntersville, NC. Partnering with Brentwood-Benson Music Publishing’s worship centric label, Great Worship Songs, Smith, a resident of Charlotte, NC, will release the collection titled Unsearchable on October 7th. Songs from Unsearchable will be available through GreatWorshipSongs.com as audio, lead sheet, and chord chart resources by the end September with additional resource placements to follow.

“The moment I walked onto the stage I could feel God’s presence. From the first note played until the last song was sung, we joined our hearts and voices to lift up the name of Jesus, and experienced God in wholehearted worship,” said Smith in response to the evening of worship. “Though His greatness and love are truly unsearchable, God stirred our hearts toward His, and as we sang our souls caught a greater glimpse of His glory and splendour.”

Smith has been blessed with a platform to directly impact the lives of worshippers across the country. Unsearchable is the latest component to her growing ministry, including familiar moments such as “Jesus I Am Resting, Resting,” “Through All Generations” and “Broken into Beautiful,” which was recorded by Mandisa (American Idol finalist) on the recent Women of Faith album It Must Be Grace. This new album concentrates on the introduction of original corporate songs, further solidifying Great Worship Songs as a brand connected with emerging worship songs.

Smith was officially signed as the first recording artist on the Great Worship Songs imprint in June of 2008. Inclusive on the agreement was a publishing contract with Brentwood-Benson Music Publishing, welcoming Smith as a member of the well-established song-writing staff. Unsearchable is Smith’s sixth album release and her first to be distributed nationally. Brentwood-Benson Music Publishing and Great Worship Songs will look for additional venues to grow Smith’s ministry through traditional record and publishing outlets combined with new technologies.
