Despite the tragedy of losing member Doug Riley in an automobile accident in January, Southern Gospel Quartet Gold City is back on the road, with three scheduled appearances in Ontario.
The long running vocal group will appear at Canada Christian College along with special guests Trevor Dick and Craig Nelson on March 24th and then the following nights at Royal View Pentecostal in London and Kingston Gospel Temple in Kingston, Ontario.
Tickets for the Toronto and London shows are available through www.ticketwindow.ca. For ticket information on the Kingston show call 1-613-548-3855.
In other Gold City news, bass singer Bill Lawrence left the group. Tim Riley has rejoined the group on an interim basis. The group also welcomes Kyle Strickland as the new sound technician. “We have known him for most of his life as his family has been coming to see us for years. He also married my little sister Amy. If my calculations are correct, that makes him my brother-in-law,” says Danny Riley.
Anyone interested in applying for the vacant bass singer’s spot with Gold City should email a resumé and demo to danielriley@goldcityqt.com, or send the information to the Gold City Office:
