GMA Music Week 2009: Dog & Pony Show VI [Night 2]

Publish Date: Apr 22, 2009

We were all still pretty high from the sugar that we ingested at Natalie Grant’s Gold Party so we decided to head over to the second night of the Dog & Pony IV Show. We caught part of Toronto-based Manic Drive’s set and the highly-anticipated set from Michael Sweet and Oz Fox of Stryper.

Manic Drive is set to release Blue on August 18th. The album will feature re-mixes of songs from Reset And Rewind and new material. Stage lighting was kept to a minimum to give it that industrial feel.

Stryper recently announced their 25th anniversary tour and their new project Murder By Pride. Michael and Oz performed some new and classic Stryper hits acoustically. They closed the set with “Soldiers Under Command”, a tough song to play with with electric guitars. The audience appreciated it and gave teh guys a standing ovation.
