Chris Tomlin, winner of five 2006 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards including Artist of the Year Song of the Year, and Male Vocalist, is back in the studio with his band working on a follow-up to the gold-selling 2004 album, Arriving. The set is due in stores this September.

Tomlin is asking fans to pray for him and the band throughout the process; that the music they make will be pleasing to God and encouraging to others.

In a recent posting on his blog site, Tomlin wrote, “As many of you know, I have been honoured with several awards as of late. I am humbled beyond belief. I heard these words recently from one of Keith Green’s best loved songs. They seemed timely, so I though I would pass them on: ‘I want to take Your word and shine it all around/First help me just to live it Lord/And when I’m doing well help me to never seek a crown/For my reward is giving glory to You.’”

Tomlin’s latest project is Live From Austin Music Hall which after six months is still one of the top 30 best-selling albums at Canadian Christian retail.
