Publish Date: Sep 29, 2006

Flicker Records has claimed three Top 5 positions on the Radio & Records Christian Rock radio chart the week of September 18th. Those artists coveting the No. 2, No.4 and No. 5 spots were Fireflight, eleventyseven and Pillar, respectively.

Both Fireflight’s You Decide, and Pillar’s Everything climbed up the chart one spot from the previous week. eleventyseven’s My Space peaked at No. 3 on R&R’s Christian Rock chart. Mark Giles, vice president of national promotions for Provident Label Group comments, “We’re thrilled to have the Flicker roster of artists as part of Provident Label Group. I believe the fun has only begun for this amazing Rock imprint!”

Comprising Dawn Richardson (lead vocals), Wendy Drennen (bass), Glenn Drennen (guitar), Justin Cox (guitar) and Phee Shorb (drums), Fireflight formed five years ago in Orlando, Fla. A fixture of the local rock scene, Fireflight is familiar to national music audiences as well. Its self-released EP, On The Subject of Moving Forward, sold thousands of copies independently. Additionally, Songwriters Showcases of America named Fireflight “Band of the Year” in 2004. Fireflight released its national debut on Flicker Records, The Healing of Harms, July 25th and was a regular on the summer festival circuit. Having performed alongside established rock acts Skillet, Emery, Anberlin, Disciple and Kids in the Way, among others, Fireflight will continue to tour throughout 2006 and beyond in support of its debut release.

Matt Langston (lead vocals, guitar), Caleb Satterfield (bass), and Jonathan Stephens (drums) have been cranking out their brand of teenage, fun-frenzied music for nearly four years. Greenville, South Carolina has served as home base for the band, which quickly expanded its domain to include a majority of the East Coast. With three well-received independent releases already to its credit, the trio has maintained a non-stop touring schedule, proof of its extreme likeability and work ethic. Most recently, eleventyseven joined headliner Superchic[k] on tour in the spring of 2006. The band’s first label project, And the Land of Fake Believe, launched May 16th.

Since the band’s Dove Award-winning 2001 debut Above, Flicker Records artist Pillar has seen unprecedented success in every aspect of its career. With seven No. 1 radio singles and twelve Top 5 hits to its credit, Pillar has earned an additional three Dove Awards, headlined seven national tours, performed for more than two million people, and been featured on the covers of Radio & Records, Rockline Magazine, CCM Magazine, 7ball Magazine, Breakaway Magazine, HM Magazine, and Christian Retailing. The band has also received print coverage in Rolling Stone, Spin, Bass Player, and Hit Parader. Pillar’s video Bring Me Down saw heavy rotation on the Fuse TV program “Rockzilla” and was voted No. 1 at Fuse TV’s “Oven Fresh.” The band additionally won Fuse TV’s Next Big Thing award. Most recently, Teen Mania tapped Pillar’s “Frontline” as the 18-month-long theme song for its “BattleCry” campaign with the organization filming an accompanying music video that aired at events in arenas nationwide. Pillar releases its fourth studio project, The Reckoning, to Canadian Christian retail stores on October 3rd and will headline the “Days of the Reckoning” tour this fall. Also, look for Pillar on the cover of HM Magazine’s November/December issue.
