Publish Date: Jun 11, 2009

Everyday Sunday’s lastest project, Best Night Of Our Lives, will be available at Canadian Christian retailer this coming Tuesday. Here are the stories behind the songs as told by lead vocalist Trey Pearson.

Best Night Of Our Lives

“Best Night of Our Lives” is a fun song about having a good time. More specifically, though, it’s about all my friends back home and, in particular, one of my best friends who moved away. It’s a song that has to do with everyone’s lives and change and moving on. Whether it is someone moving to another city, graduation, or a new phase in life, we need each other, and we should make the most of what God gives us.

Under Your Thumb

This song is about someone who wants to blame all their problems in life on somebody else. It’s about taking responsibility for one’s decisions. God has given each of us a choice how we are going to live…whether we live for him and trust that His way is best for us, or choose to do it our own way. He’s given us all free will.

Lies and Fear Go Hand In Hand

I started writing this song after seeing some of my peers trying hard to be something they are not. They compromise everything they stand for and believe in to try and fit in. It’s difficult to watch because I care so much about these people and don’t want to see them go through it.

Breathing For Me

“Breathing For Me” is about letting go and having faith when you know you can’t do everything yourself. It’s about turning from where you’ve messed up and letting God take control of your life even when you don’t know all the answers.

Where I Ended

This song is about seeing God come through, blessing us, and changing our lives when we don’t deserve it. Everything we have has nothing to do with us or what we’ve done, but God choosing to save us in spite of all our shortcomings.

Figure It Out

This is the first real love song I’ve written. I started writing it for my fiancé after we got engaged, and the first time I played it for her was at our wedding. We recorded it shortly after for this album.

Pity The Man Who Falls and Has No One To Help Him Up

The name of this song comes from the book of Ecclesiastes in the Old Testament. It’s about the importance of friendship and how much we need each other to get through life. I believe with all my heart that God put us on this journey to sharpen each other and to help each other through it.

Come Around

The inspiration behind this song is pretty sensitive. I wrote it about a younger guy from my home church who lost his father as a teenager. I cannot begin to imagine how tough that is or what that feels like. I just wanted him to know how much God loves him, and how I, and so many people, care about him, and that we’re here for him.

Here With Me

I was inspired to write this song while backpacking with a bunch of friends down in Red River Gorge (in the Appalachian Mountains). One night we were reading out of Job 38 about how Job’s life was being destroyed all around him. Job wasn’t angry with God, but he questioned God why it was all happening, and God, in turn, asked Job why he would ever question Him. It just made me think about how huge God is and how sometimes we just need to let go and trust Him.

In The End

This song is about repentance and how much sin destroys our lives. When you realize how much God’s done for you, and you believe in Him as your Savior, you can’t keep living in all that junk. We realize how much more God wants for us, and we give it all up to God.
