Elevate’s second release, Becoming, stays true to the band’s mission of producing innovative, original songs with an explosive guitar/drum-driven sound and passionate, heartfelt worship. Working in conjunction with CMC Distribution, Elevate will release their second album to Christian bookstores across Canada by February 14th.

Elevate was formed in the spring of 2004 as a part of the worship ministry training program at Briercrest College. They released their first self-titled worship disc in December 2004 and were nominated for “Outstanding Worship Album of the Year” at the 2005 Shai Awards. During Elevate’s short history, they have opened-up for such noteworthy bands as Pillar, Thousand Foot Krutch, and Brian Doerksen. Now having released their second album, Becoming, the band is gearing up for a western US/Canadian tour in spring 2006.

The six member group includes five Briercrest College students – Brandon Shuman (lead vocals), Brent Bisaillion (electric guitar), Nathan O’Hara (keyboards), Jeff Knight (background vocals and bass), Jeremy Avraham (drums) – and is led by faculty member, Ken Dosso (background vocals and acoustic guitar). Ken Dosso is an experienced worship pastor, clinician, and published writer/arranger of over 40 titles with Abingdon Press, LifeWay, Shawnee, and Lorenz publishing houses. He is active as a worship leader and conference speaker. A native of Victoria, BC, he now resides in Saskatchewan where he teaches songwriting, music, and worship ministry at Briercrest College.
