This morning, fiddler Stephanie Mainville paticipated at the 2008 Soundwaves Competition, a program developed in partnership with the East Coast Music Association (ECMA) and Music New Brunswick.

Nine young bands from around New Brunswick were selected open up for an established ECMA band, and played in front a live crowd. Their performances were videotaped and juried, and the top four bands selected will compete for the number one spot at Soundwaves 2008, the kick off to the 2008 East Coast Music Awards, Festival & Conference. Vegetarian Haggis from Fredericton was chosen to open for Mainville. On February 8th, Mainville will also perform as part of Music New Brunswick, part of ECMA Fest.

On Saturday, February 9th, the Maritime Gospel Music Association will host the Gospel Stage at Sunset Church. Schedule to appear that evening are:
