Last Friday, the contestants performed songs made famous by Rod Stewart. The band selected Baby Jane and received positive feedback from all the judges. Johnny Rzeznik thought that they did not sound like a wedding was glad that the lead guitar player take centre stage for once. Sheila E. was extremely delighted and asked the band if it was had to find songs to perform due their faith. Bandleader Denver Bierman replied by saying that it difficult to find a song that would fit the band on a weekly basis. Ian Dickson loved it as well but was curious as to why they took the bridge of the song out. This Friday, contestants will perform songs by the British rock group Queen.
Produced by the people behind the mega-hit phenomenon “American Idol”, the show takes the musical reality genre to a whole new performance level as they search for “The Next Great American Band”. Singer and songwriter John Rzeznik (the Goo Goo Dolls), legendary percussionist and performer Sheila E. (whose hits include The Glamorous Life and A Love Bizarre) and Australian TV personality Ian “Dicko” Dickson (Australian Idol) serve as judges while Dominic Bowden (New Zealand Idol) hosts.
