Country Supergroup Diamond Rio Kicks-Off Lighting Ceremony At Opryland Hotel

Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music award-winning group, Diamond Rio, brought more than a sparkle to the world famous Opryland Hotel this past week Nashville.

Performing the title track from their recently released, first holiday project Diamond Rio Christmas: The Star Still Shines, the band joined other renowned Nashville and national figures to switch on more than two million Christmas lights during Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center’s annual Christmas lighting ceremony. Also featured were the city’s newly elected Mayor, Karl Dean; Tennessee State University marching band; Lorianne Crook and Charlie Chase; the world-famous Radio City Rockettes; and Audrey Geisel, the wife of the late Dr. Theodor Seuss Geisel.
