Christmas Music To Be Featured All December Long On HearItFirst.ca

Publish Date: Nov 21, 2008

As the song goes, “It is the most wonderful time of the year.” What better way than to celebrate that with new Christmas music. Over the next couple of weeks, HearItFirst.ca will revisit some of this year’s brand new holiday music starting with Amy Grant and Shane & Shane this week.

Christmas music is synonymous with Amy Grant. Her classic arrangements, stirring original Christmas songs, TV specials, and widely attended Christmas tours over the years have all contributed to over five million Christmas albums sold.

In 2007, all three of Amy’s classic Christmas albums were digitally re-mastered and sold over 50,000 albums in just three months. This year, Amy is pulling out all of the stops with a new collection of the best Christmas songs from all three catalogue albums plus four new recordings.

The four new recordings are “Jingle Bells”, “I Need A Silent Night” (co-written with Chris Eaton who also penned “Breath Of Heaven” ), “Count Your Blessings”, and “Baby, It’s Christmas” (a duet with Vince Gill).

Christian music’s favourite song-writing duo, Shane & Shane releases its first-ever Christmas record, Glory In The Highest (A Christmas Record) this holiday season. Recorded at the duo’s Spaceway Studios, the album, produced by Jason Hoard (Fee), also marks the twosome’s mix and engineering debut.

Containing 11 songs with a jazzy country/gospel flare, the project includes eight classic Christmas favourites like “Away In A Manger”, “Silent Night”, “O Little Town Of Bethlehem”, and “O Holy Night”, which will be serviced to radio, as well as three original songs. Special guest Bethany Dillon performs background vocals on several tracks.

This CD is specially priced at $12.99 or less.

Both albums are now available at your local Canadian Christian retailer. Keep track of all the new and upcoming releases via your own personal copy of the November New Music Tuesday and New Christmas Music poster. Head over to HearItFirst.ca to hear these new holiday releases.
