As the song goes, “It is the most wonderful time of the year.” What better way than to celebrate that with new Christmas music. This week we feature selections from two guys in suits.

“This was the most satisfying recording session I’ve ever experienced,” beams Michael W. Smith about his latest musical endeavour, It’s A Wonderful Christmas.

The album’s ten original songs and one standard were brought to life by a 67 piece orchestra at London’s famous Abbey Road Studios and beautifully marries smith’s pop sensibilities with his inventive instrumental work and cinematic creativity. Smith worked with a number of song-writing partners on the album including David Hamilton, Wes King and Smith’s son Ryan. Christmas Day features Mandisa on guest vocals.

A classic in the making, It’s A Wonderful Christmas is a must-have addition to any Christmas music buyer’s collection.

Amy Grant appears on Christmas Time Is Here. Other guest musicians include Ken Lewis on percussion and Jason Ingram of The Longing on piano and guitars.
