World-renowned and six-time Grammy® Award winner The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir will release its next album in a new, exclusive distribution partnership with Integrity Music. I’ll Say Yes is scheduled to release January 29th, 2008.
“Integrity Music is honoured to have been entrusted by The Brooklyn Tabernacle to help carry on its unequalled legacy in both ministry and music,” said Don Moen, president of Integrity Music Group.
Originally founded in the early 70s, the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir is a 300-voice Gospel choir based out of the historic Brooklyn Tabernacle in downtown Brooklyn, NY. The Choir, like the church, is an amazing amalgam of ethnic and economic backgrounds and includes everyone from attorneys and nurses to street people and ex-crack addicts. All share a passion to glorify God through song.
Their new 15-track CD, I’ll Say Yes, is the 26th album in a recording history that stretches back to 1981 and in addition to its six Grammy® Awards, includes seven Dove Awards with over four million albums sold. The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir is under the leadership of founder and director Carol Cymbala, wife of the church’s pastor, Jim Cymbala, and daughter of church founder, the late Rev. Clair Hutchins. Mrs. Cymbala is also the producer and director of the newest Brooklyn Tabernacle release.
The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir is known for their dynamic performances and has appeared in major venues including Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, the Paramount Theater, and a sold-out performance at Madison Square Gardens. The Brooklyn Tab also has a core group, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Singers, who travel much more frequently than the choir as a whole. The Singers’ last album was Song From The Altar and the choir’s previous album was I’m Amazed… Live.
YMZ will bring you more on the album next week. For more information on the choir, visit their YMZ artist page.
