On February 22nd, the group also had an opportunity to visit with students from Ruben Dario school in Nandaime, Nicaragua. Having helped secure sponsorships for more than 20,000 children as a World Vision partner since 1998, Avalon witnessed first-hand how money raised on behalf of the child sponsorship organization has improved education in that part of the country.
Currently, Avalon is preparing for the “We Will Stand” tour, their first headlining tour in three years. Joining Avalon are label mate Daniel Doss Band, Curb Records industry veteran Michael English and emerging Fervent Records female duo CADIA. The tour kicks off on March 27th in Pittsburgh and will visit more than 30 cities through May.
In support of the tour, all participating artists re-recorded the classic song “We Will Stand”, which they will perform to close each show. The song has been serviced for play at Christian radio. Additionally, a CD sampler featuring one song from each artist on the tour as well as this special version of “We Will Stand” is now available at Canadian Christian retailers FREE with the purchase of the tour artists’ new albums. Look for the promotional display which will feature all four artists’ new albums, the tour CD sampler and English’s new book, The Prodigal Comes Home.
