Responding to what their fans have requested, the members of Avalon will release a new album of timeless worship songs from the church, Faith: A Hymns Collection, on October 17th via Sparrow Records.
Produced by Brown Bannister (Amy Grant), FAITH features Avalon’s special renditions of powerful hymns including Holy, Holy, Holy, Blessed Assurance, Joyful, Joyful, Great Is Thy Faithfulness, In Christ Alone, It Is Well, Total Praise, I’ll Fly Away, On Christ The Solid Rock, How Great Thou Art, and Amazing Grace. Also highlighted are Jesus Medley and the bonus patriotic song For Freedom Needs.
Avalon is already performing some of these FAITH songs at the Women of Faith conference in Calgary and will be doing so on November 3rd and 4th in Vancouver. The group will perform for nearly 500,000 people at these events across North America through 2006 and has several major television appearances in the works to promote the new album upon release.
News of Faith: A Hymns Collection comes even as Avalon’s current album, Stand, continues to impact radio and retail. Another standout single from that acclaimed project, Somehow You Are, hit the airwaves earlier this month. Say group member Jody McBrayer, “It’s a personal favourite of mine, and I hope you guys enjoy it too.”
